Biography
James Brett completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)(Honours) / Bachelor of Science (Physics) in 2004, at the University of Melbourne. In 2005 he commenced a Masters of Engineering Science in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering
Research
Masters project involves creating a numerical model of an evaporating bio-oil droplet and is supervised by Dr. Andrew Ooi. Bio-mass fuels are considered environmentally sustainable replacements to traditional fuels but have some issues associated with them due to chemical impurities forming char during evaporation and combustion. It is hoped that through modelling the evaporation process the formation of this char can be reduced.
