CMC Research Pty Ltd has been involved over the past few years in collaborative research at the University of Melbourne in advanced engine design.

CMC Research designs and develops compact engines with a unique Scotch Yoke Crank Mechanism. The Scotch Yoke mechanism provides sinusoidal piston motion which gives the CMC Research Scotch Yoke Engine inherent advantages over the conventional automotive engines with slider-crank mechanism. Several prototype engines are made by CMC Research and further design and development of new prototypes is under progress.
